Meet Curtis Reese
- Curtis Reese -
I started playing professional tennis at 12 and have been a huge fan of the game ever since. I earned a state ranking in high school and went on to play at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. In college, I earned a Top 128 junior ranking in Texas, the 1994 NJCAA top 75 singles ranking, 1996-1997 NCAA-2 Top 100 singles ranking, and received the All- sports trophy for the Lone Star Conference North in 1997.
I began my career teaching tennis in the early ’90s. After college, I continued to play in men’s open tournaments around the state and surrounding area while working as a pro at Fair Oaks Tennis Center. A couple years after college, I landed my dream job as a full-time pro at Brookhaven Country Club, where I worked with adults and juniors in the tennis academy.
After ten years at Brookhaven, I took the Head Tennis Professional position at Las Colinas Country Club, where I organized tournaments, men’s & women’s leagues, and special events. The next step in my career was to lead the Dallas Professional Tennis Association (DPTA) as president from 2016-2019 while working as a pro at Royal Oaks Country Club. I was the 10 & under junior tennis director and director of Pickleball at ROCC. I quickly grew to enjoy teaching and playing pickleball as much as I 've enjoyed teaching and playing tennis. My wife, Melanie, and I live in Lake Highlands and love raising our two sons here. I am an active member of Lake Highlands Exchange Club and enjoy supporting the community. Our sons, Garner and Evan, also enjoy playing tennis and various other sports.
